The Goodwill Partnership makes further strides
It’s been an incredible year so far for our Will-writing service, The Goodwill Partnership. Not only have we launched a blog and news page but we’ve also started receiving enquiries on a weekly basis.
It’s taken a long time to get to this point but since our launch in 2009 we’ve seen a steady increase in interest from both the charity and corporate sectors. This year alone we’ve been able to welcome The Wychwood Project, Sylva Foundation, learning disabilities charity Hft, Spinal Research and Book Aid International to name a few – with more to be announced shortly.
What’s driven our growth? In tandem with our partner, Welcare Guardian, we feel we deliver the UK’s best solicitor-written, home visit, low cost Will-writing service. It’s as simple as that.
For our charity partners, the benefits are clear. They can offer the Goodwill Partnership’s services to their members, supporters and volunteers. Not everyone will leave a legacy to charity, nor are they pressed to either, yet some will feel an allegiance to their preferred charities and might leave a legacy when they write their Will.
For charities, legacy fundraising is hugely important. As Rob Cope, director of Remember A Charity, says in our guest blog post, “charities that champion legacy giving across the organisation will be those that stand the best opportunity of rising to the top.”
The potential for further legacy giving in the charity sector is considerable. A recent Smee and Ford whitepaper pointed out, “if just one percent of non-charitable estates (i.e. those that do not contain a gift to charity) were converted to charitable, another £78 million would be raised each year for charities”. Imagine if that was 10 percent!
If you’re a charity and would like to raise more legacy funds by offering Will-writing services to your supporters, we’d be delighted to tell you more. For further information, please call Mark Jackson on 01296 680463 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
